Deion Sanders makes shocking announcement to team after recent transfer portal departures

The Colorado Buffaloes are experiencing a bit of transfer portal departure surge this week with the opening of the spring window.

One of the players that they ended up losing was running back Alton McCaskill, leaving their running back room quite thin in terms of depth. The Buffs are expected to be in the mix for a couple of the top-ranked running backs in the portal, but as announced by Deion Sanders at a recent practice there is someone who is showing out.

With all eyes on him, Sanders called on walk-on running back Charlie Offerdahl to come to the middle of the practice field with him. Sanders then shouted toward the running backs coach Gary “Flea” Harrell, and told him that Offerdahl is second on the depth chart until he decides otherwise.

While it’s unclear who he surpassed on the depth chart, it does mean that he is currently ahead of either three-star Micah Welch or former four-star Dylan Edwards who led the team in rushing last year. Offerdahl was one of the holdovers from the previous regime and quickly fell in favor of Sanders for his hard work and occasional big plays.
