Lakewood holds first State of the City since 2018 as leaders address homelessness, crime

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) — For the first time in nearly a decade, Lakewood city leaders delivered a State of the City address Wednesday night, highlighting progress while confronting growing concerns over homelessness, public drug use and crime.

Mayor Wendi Strom said the event — the first since 2018 — was an opportunity to reconnect with the community and address challenges residents say are becoming more visible across the city.
