JOHNSTON, Iowa — Authorities say two people were injured Friday during a car crash north of Johnston.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says the crash was reported shortly after 5 p.m. when its Communications Center began receiving 911 calls. Authorities say the collision took place in the 9900 block of NW Beaver Drive, north of Johnston.

Law enforcement arrived on scene, where the two vehicles involved in the crash were located. Each vehicle had one occupant, and both were taken to the hospital with injuries, the sheriff’s office said.
