DES MOINES, Iowa — Potential flooding has Des Moines Water Works closing a portion of Water Works Park.
On Wednesday, DMWW said the western areas of the park are temporarily closed. The areas around the Lauridsen Amphitheater are remaining open.
A near-record wet September has left many areas soggy, and DMWW is reminding people to be safe and avoid the closed areas of the park. The restricted areas will be reopened once the flood risk has passed.
