Police seeking suspect in Grosse Pointe Farms home invasion

Grosse Pointe Farms police are asking for help identifying the suspect involved in a home invasion that took place between 11 p.m. Monday and 5 a.m. Tuesday.

The Grosse Pointe Farms Department of Public Safety reports that surveillance video showed the man entering a residence in the area of Grosse Pointe Boulevard and Hendrie Lane through an unlocked front door. He was discovered inside the home by the homeowner before fleeing the area through an unsecured private street security gate.

The suspect is described as a heavy-set black man with shoulder-length dreadlocks, approximately 20–30 years old. He was wearing a black baseball cap with a white “P” on the front, a green t-shirt, black shorts with a white stripe, and white shoes during the incident, police said.
