Southfield barricaded situation ends peacefully, after 4-hour standoff

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) — After an hours-long standoff, officials said a barricaded man surrendered himself to Southfield Police, late Friday afternoon.

According to Police Chief Elvin Barren. officers responded at around 12:45 p.m. to the scene, at a home near the intersection of Ariel and Pennsylvania, in a neighborhood near Greenfield Rd. and Mt. Vernon.

Barren said a man was doing drugs, and may have been drinking, when he allegedly attacked his elderly father, before barricading himself in the basement…
