Detroit Water Festival held in Trenton

Local students, educators and experts converged on Trenton this week for the annual Detroit River Water Festival.

The event is an outdoor, educational program designed to help students learn about clean, fresh water. Over 400 students from the Downriver area were brought together Wednesday and Thursday mornings to learn about the Detroit River over two days. It is a free program to help educate 4th and 5th grade students about the importance and beauty of the water around us and how it impacts our daily lives. The event was held at the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge, 5437 West Jefferson Ave. in Trenton.
