Come on, was this ever even a possibility of going down? Over the past week or so, North Carolina fans were shocked to hear that South Carolina was making a push to steal away Scott Forbes. The veteran coach loves life in Chapel Hill, and he’s got the Tar Heels making serious noise this postseason – the College World Series is coming up next.
Reports even indicated that Forbes was No. 1 on the list for the Gamecocks. However, South Carolina ended up hiring Kevin Schnall, putting the Forbes speculation to bed. Was this ever close to getting done? Nope, as Kendall Rogers made it abundantly clear that North Carolina was never at risk of seeing its leader make the move to Columbia at any point.
