5,400 gallons of sewage overflows in Chapel Hill near Orange County creek, officials say

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — More than 5,000 gallons of sewage overflowed in Chapel Hill near a creek in Orange County Thursday afternoon, officials said.

According to the Orange Water and Sewer Authority, 5,400 gallons of untreated wastewater were released around 2:10 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 4300 block of Drew Hill Lane near Eastowne Drive in Chapel Hill.
