Nearly 30,000 students will return to Durham Public Schools classrooms as the district begins the 2026-27 school year this week.
Year-round schools are scheduled to welcome students back on July 20, while early colleges and specialty schools will begin classes on Aug. 6. Traditional-calendar schools will start the new school year on Aug. 24.
