Duke School of Medicine executive vice dean Geeta Swamy to depart for Boston University

Dr. Geeta Swamy, executive vice dean for clinical sciences and research administration at the School of Medicine, will leave Duke to serve as dean of the Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine. Her last day at Duke will be Dec. 31, according to a Thursday B.U. press release.

Swamy, also associate vice president for research, is a leading scholar in maternal immunization and women’s health. Since starting as an assistant professor in 2004, she has served as an associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology, a member of the Duke Human Vaccine Institute, senior associate dean of the School of Medicine, and vice dean and associate vice provost for scientific integrity.
