Three juveniles were caught in the line of fire during a drive-by shooting in east Durham on Wednesday, when gunfire sent a bullet into a bedroom at the Rochelle Manor apartment complex, according to police. No injuries were reported, and investigators say no arrests have been made.
What police say
According to CBS17, Durham officers responded to a report of an assault on the 2800 block of Rochelle Street and learned that an unidentified male inside a vehicle began shooting toward three juveniles. Officers told the outlet a bullet was later recovered inside a bedroom at the Rochelle Manor complex.
Detectives worked the scene Wednesday and had not identified a suspect, police said.
Latest in a string of vehicle attacks
This is the latest vehicle-based shooting reported in Durham this year. In March, a drive-by near a Durham Housing Authority community was reported by WRAL. Another WRAL report detailed a deadly drive-by on Hillsborough Road in January.
