LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Texas Tech softball (57-7) loaded the bus and left a rainy Lubbock Tuesday morning; their next stop is Oklahoma City for the Women’s College World Series where the Red Raiders took West Texas by storm one year ago.
“We’re super excited, we have a super excited team. We’re thrilled to get back to Oklahoma City and represent Texas Tech at the World Series for the second year in a row,” said Tech head softball coach Gerry Glasco. “My kids are in a great place, we’re healthy, and I think that’s the most confident and focused. I’ve seen our team all season.”
The Red Raiders are coming off a contentious super regional round where they outlasted the Florida Gators in a series that saw 53 combined runs scored in three games. It also generated social media chatter from the five times second baseman and ex-Gator Mia Williams was hit at the plate, and with the Florida players refusing to shake hands to congratulate Texas Tech after its16-7 win Sunday afternoon.
