World Trade Tower beam travels to OKC for moving ceremony

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A steel beam from the World Trade Center arrived in Oklahoma City today to honor New York City firefighter Stephen Siller, marking 25 years since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

The steel beam is part of a traveling exhibit designed to teach new generations about the impact of terrorism. It commemorates the sacrifice of Siller, who died on Sept. 11, 2001, while attempting to reach the Twin Towers through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to save others.

The commemoration began in Oklahoma City with a moment of silence and the laying of a wreath at the Oklahoma City National Memorial. A message of solidarity, “You stood with us in our darkest hours; now we stand with you,” was expressed during the memorial events…
