LUTHER, Okla. (KFOR) – The ultimate road trip called The American Solar Challenge is underway right now. Multiple collegiate teams traveling 1,500 miles across America over the course of 8 days in a vehicle powered by solar energy. They started the race last Saturday in Minnesota and they will end it this Saturday in west Texas.
Some of those miles take them right through the sooner state along the way, and Thursday night some of the teams found themselves on Route 66 in need of a place to stay. As the sun set, a team from Belgium with 41 members needed to stop for the night. They decided to ask a farmer in Luther if they could bunk at his place and fortunately, they found a willing host.

“A good night’s sleep is always worth it during the race,” Mathilde Blanc, a member of Innoptus Solar Racing team, said.
