EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Three Canutillo Independent School District teachers represented Region 19 at the 2026 Texas Sped Support Summer Institute for Teachers of Students with Complex Access Needs.
The teachers, Rene Bustamante, Turina Mendoza and Dana Salinas attended the event, hosted by the Texas Education Agency.
The Sped Support Summer Institute is a “intensive” four-day training for teachers to collaborate with other educators while learning innovative, hands-on instructional strategies to better support students with complex access needs, according to Canutillo ISD.
