EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – With the massive BTS concert at the Sun Bowl just three days away, tens of thousands of fans are descending on the Borderland this week. However, the unprecedented surge in visitors is creating a nightmare for some travelers.
Lodging and transportation are in incredibly high demand, and there are continuing reports of fans getting their hotel reservations abruptly canceled at the last minute. The ongoing issues have left many scrambling, with some opting to book stays out of town or even considering sleeping in their cars.
Nathan Tohtsoni, visiting from Kirtland, New Mexico, is driving more than six hours with his family for the concert. He says they booked their room back in January through a third-party app, only to learn this week that the hotel dropped their reservation without warning—and without notifying the app. Instead, the hotel re-listed the room at a much higher price…
