EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Downtown El Paso was already buzzing with heavy traffic and packed parking lots on Friday, May 1, as hundreds flocked to the area for Day 1 of of the El Paso Comic Con.
But the congestion is just a taste of the massive crowds expected Saturday and Sunday as three major events converge on the area.
Between the convention, the Sol Summit music festival, and a highly anticipated BTS concert at UTEP, the City is preparing for a jam-packed weekend.
Over at San Jacinto Plaza, the stage is rapidly taking shape for Sol Summit, where 18 bands are set to perform. Seth Dotson, the festival’s director, hopes the overlapping events will give visitors a chance to experience the city’s unique local flair.
“My hope for Sol Summit is that we’re introducing El Paso and some of our Borderland culture to all of these folks that are coming in for the show at UTEP,” Dotson said…
