The Antique Show has its origin dating back to 1938, when Doc and Edis Shelkey organized the first ever event in Westfield. The two were well-known local antique dealers during that era and the event was so well attended they decided to hold it annually. Since then, the show has become a tradition in Chautauqua County, and for the past several decades, has been organized by CCHS. In 2024, the show was relocated to Mayville and rebranded as the “Chautauqua County Historical Society Antique Show,” but its purpose and goal remain the same: to raise funds for CCHS and the McClurg Museum.
