Habitat for Humanity Builds Stability for Two Erie Families

“What really inspired me to take that step is my children. I just wanted something better, something more stable for them,” said Kymberly McClellan, future homeowner No. 82, as Habitat for Humanity of Greater Erie broke ground today on two new homes.

Danat’sha Crosby, future homeowner No. 83, said she searched for a program that could help her secure a stable home for her entire family. “I was trying to find a program that can assist me with getting a stable home for my son… to have the space for them all to grow in the same household, and everybody can accommodate it. It is wonderful,” she said.

Habitat for Humanity celebrated the start of construction on its 82nd and 83rd homes, built for the McClellan and Crosby families. Before qualifying for homeownership, each family completed more than 300 hours of sweat equity, working alongside volunteers on construction projects and attending classes to prepare for long‑term financial stability.
