Erie nonprofits feeling strain of higher fuel costs

Organizations across Erie County are feeling the impact of higher fuel costs, including non-profits that depend on daily driving routes to help people in need.

One Non-profit, Meals on Wheels Erie, said its drivers are constantly on the road making meal deliveries to homebound residents, so they see the impact of rising fuel prices daily.

Millcreek Township creates new position to expand public outreach

“We must think twice when we start looking at our routes and adding new routes and increasing our capacity, which is something that we’re working on right now,” Jennifer Hoffman, the executive director for Meals on Wheels Erie, said.
