Traffic Alert: 30,000 expected at Autzen Stadium for UO commencement

EUGENE, Ore. – The University of Oregon’s commencement on June 15 is expected to bring up to 30,000 people to the Autzen Stadium area, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said that heavy traffic is expected on Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard and Coburg Road between Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard and the area around the UO campus from 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Eugene Police Traffic Safety Unit and other EPD personnel will manage traffic flow similar to what is done for a home football game.

According to Eugene Police, people not attending the event should plan alternative routes to avoid congestion. Alternate routes include the Washington/Jefferson Street Bridge, Delta Highway, Cal Young Road, Harlow Road, Goodpasture Island Road and Green Acres/Crescent Avenue…
