SWEET HOME, Ore. — A fire that began in an attached garage spread to a home, two vehicles and nearby vegetation Sunday evening outside Sweet Home, prompting a large-scale response from fire agencies across Linn County and leaving one firefighter hospitalized.
Residents of the single-family home on Wiley Creek Drive discovered the fire and safely evacuated with their pets before calling 911 at 7:11 p.m., fire officials said.
The residents were able to evacuate the home with their pets and called 911 at 7:11 pm. The call for help came in just 14 minutes after a separate residential flue fire was reported in the Cascadia area.
