SPRINGFIELD, Ore. – A brush fire nearly destroyed a building near downtown Springfield Friday evening after flames broke out and shattered windows from the intense heat, according to Eugene Springfield Fire officials.
Eugene Springfield Fire responded to 221 B Street just before 7 p.m. on June 12. A Springfield police officer spotted smoke while leaving the justice center and called for firefighters.
