Cow Creek Umpqua foundation gifts hundreds of thousands to Oregon nonprofits

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ore. – The Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation is giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to nonprofits in several Oregon counties.

The foundation gives to organizations in Coos, Deschutes, Douglas, Jackson, Josephine, Klamath and Lane counties each year. The foundation believes that education builds character and doesn’t begin and end at the classroom door. They say many times it is the experience outside of the classroom that inspires a child, something the Science Center in Eugene supports as well.

Three counties in the viewing area received funding. Lane County was the largest recipient with $10,000 donations to A Family for Every Child, Food for Lane County and Ophelia’s Place…
