EUGENE, Ore. – A University of Oregon dean collapsed during Monday’s commencement ceremony at Hayward Field in 97-degree heat, leaving some graduates frustrated about how the university handled extreme weather conditions.
A video posted to social media shows Dean Adrian Parr Zaretsky addressing graduates before she fainted and was taken off the field on a stretcher by paramedics. The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for parts of the Willamette Valley on June 12 for June 14 through 16.
