One of the biggest concerns that a program has when adding players via the Transfer Portal is the potential for cultures clashing. On Monday, the Oregon Ducks hosted their own media day, where Dan Lanning and some of the players addressed the media. Among the most interesting players to take the podium was incoming transfer Carl Williams IV, who joins the Ducks from Baylor. When Carl Williams IV spoke about the transition to Oregon, he highlighted everything that’s right about the culture, and wrong about the outside noise.

Outsiders look at Oregon as a fancy school and a program that’s too flashy to ever get over the top to win it all. Opposing fans see the Nike partnership and all the uniforms and give the Ducks this white-collar tag that likely isn’t deserved.
