WALTERVILLE, Ore. — A 42-year-old Walterville man was arrested Monday evening after Lane County deputies responded to a reported assault along McKenzie Highway near Walterville, according to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said that on Aug. 4 at about 6:45 p.m., deputies were called to the 42700 block of McKenzie Highway. The caller reported being choked and struck in the face several times and losing consciousness. Deputies identified the suspect as Jesse Lee Rider, 42, of Walterville.
Rider left the location on foot before deputies arrived, the sheriff’s office said. Deputies interviewed the victim and set up a perimeter while waiting for an LCSO K9 to arrive and assist. Deputies also learned Rider already had warrants out for his arrest, according to the sheriff’s office…
