A Vanderburgh County judge has changed the sentence for a woman with a history of animal abuse, ordering Shayna Burko to spend two years in the Department of Corrections after she violated probation from a 2018 animal cruelty case.
In a 44News Evansville report, anchor Ben Thomas said Burko appeared in court before a packed courtroom filled with animal advocates who had followed the case closely. The hearing ended with Burko’s original probation sentence being revoked and replaced with prison time.
“Well, Michael, appearing in front of a judge in a packed courtroom full of those animal advocates, Shayna Burko will spend now two years in the Department of Corrections in Vanderburgh County,” Thomas reported…
