EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – With a heat index topping 105 degrees, Evansville residents and outdoor workers are taking extra precautions this week to stay safe.
Evansville resident Gary Barnett said working outside in the heat while moving the lawn is a struggle, but he has not stopped the work.
“After every hour of cutting, I’ll go to the back porch, turn the fans on, sit there for 20 to 30 minutes, cool off and come out and start at it again,” Barnett said. “So, I don’t try to do this whole thing in one fell swoop — maybe in the fall — but I’ve got a triple city lot, so it’s quite a bit for me to cut.”…
