Evansville woman is alive and well two years after heat stroke

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — Justina Adams says the symptoms started while she was attending a show at Marina Pointe in Evansville. Despite drinking water and hydrating throughout the day, she says her body was not cooling off.

“I felt fine, and I was not sweating,” Adams said. “I knew something was off when I got dizzy real fast. I managed, by the grace of God, to contact my sister for help through a message. And she got help. And within the next two minutes, I was vomiting in and out of consciousness and couldn’t talk.”

Friends, family, and an off-duty paramedic rushed to help. Adams says she went downhill fast. She says she could hear everything happening around her but could not respond…
