Investing in America: Coal mining’s role in the Tri-State

WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) — There are many jobs and professions that helped shape the Tri-State, but there’s one that played a major role in not only the Tri-State’s history but the country’s history: coal mining.

“Southern Indiana was a downtown coal town, we got the coal here, and we mined it, it was the place to be,” says former coal miner A.J. Mason.
