National Rock ’n’ Roll Day: The Rock Legends Who Put Evansville on the Music Map

Rock ’n’ roll has always been about more than just music. It’s about memories, stories, chemistry of the band. It’s about a band coming together to craft an album over 60 years later that we can play back and still love just as much as we did when it was released.

With today being National Rock ’n’ Roll Day, it gave me the perfect excuse to look back at my favorite genre of music and it’s connection to Evansville.

When people talk about rock history, cities like Los Angeles, New York, Detroit, and Nashville usually get most of the attention. But Evansville has its own place in that story too. Over the years, some of the biggest names in music have rolled through the Tri-State, and a few of those concerts are still talked about decades later.
