Stolen property recovered, suspects arrested in Henderson

HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – The Henderson Police Department (HPD) arrested two people in relation to a stolen vehicle case.

According to the HPD, on July 7 law enforcement officials recovered a vehicle that had been reported stolen from Wright Street sometime overnight between July 6 and July 7. Using Flock camera technology, officers learned the stolen vehicle traveled North out of Henderson during the overnight hours, but was located by the same camera system traveling back into Henderson the following morning.

Officers say they attempted a traffic stop on the stolen vehicle, but the vehicle fled. The vehicle crashed a short time later, and police say the suspects fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit, both suspects were taken into custody. Property belonging to the stolen vehicle was recovered from both individuals.

Steven Robinson and Gerald Winters were arrested and lodged at the Henderson County Detention Center on the following charges:

  • Receiving Stolen Property ($10,000 or More)
  • Fleeing or Evading Police, 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
  • Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree (On Foot)
  • Leaving the Scene of an Accident- Failure to Render Aid or Assistance
