EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The Commission on Homelessness for Evansville and Vanderburgh County is asking for a donated, centrally located space that can be used to shelter families overnight during “White Flag” cold-weather emergencies this winter.
The community’s White Flag program provides overnight emergency shelter when temperatures drop below freezing, even when traditional shelters are full. The commission said the program can be lifesaving for people who are homeless or without heat.
