Officials identify Mt. Vernon man that went missing in the Ohio River

MT. VERNON, Ind. (WEHT) — The identity of the man who went missing in the Ohio River in Mt. Vernon over the weekend has been released.

Officials with the Black Township Fire Department say agencies are actively searching for 44-year-old Richard Leinenweaver of Mt. Vernon. Leinenweaver is a white male, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing 192 pounds, with red hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt and gray shorts.

On Saturday, units were called to the Ohio River after a man and two juveniles entered the water after their boat suffered a mechanical problem. The two juveniles were found shortly after first responders arrived. The search continues for Richard Leinenweaver…
