Residents trapped by washed-out private road in Mobile County

MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) – Eight families in the Wilmer-Semmes area have been trapped in their homes since Thursday, cut off by a washed-out dirt road that continues to deteriorate with each rainfall.

The dirt road on Michael Drive near Glenwood Road became too slick to navigate after heavy rain moved in Thursday. A Facebook post from one frustrated neighbor said, “We are literally stuck in our homes.”

A volunteer crew from Tree Works Services brought equipment to clear the road, but the rain quickly undid the work…
