Cooler weather is expected to settle into the Reno-Tahoe region this week as a storm system brings gusty winds, shower chances and possible Sierra snow after a warm Memorial Day weekend.
Reno is forecast to hit a high near 62 degrees Tuesday after temperatures reached the 80s over the holiday weekend. The National Weather Service in Reno said winds could gust up to 30 mph, with chances for showers and thunderstorms developing Tuesday afternoon and continuing through Thursday.
Lake Tahoe is expected to stay cooler, with highs Tuesday reaching 58 at the lake and 48 at higher elevations. Snow levels could lower to lake level Tuesday night before rising again Wednesday, while light snow accumulations remain possible at higher Sierra elevations later this week…
