BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) — A new 2,000-acre planned development called ‘Lake Village’ is trying to get planning and zoning approval ahead of an upcoming Berkeley County planning commission meeting this week.
The project is located off the Highway 17A corridor in the vicinity of Cane Bay Plantation and the Lakewood and Windwood communities. It consists of 5,500 dwelling units, including single-family homes, multifamily homes, and a variety of commercial and institutional uses. The planned development would also need permission to lift Berkeley County’s current large-scale development moratorium.
The Grambling Brothers Real Estate and Development Incorporated is the developer pushing to establish the planned development district to facilitate the construction of the village, which they say “integrates cohesively with the surrounding developments and aligns with the future land use plan.”…
