Man on parole for murder arrested in alleged drug-trafficking operation

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — Three people have been arrested in connection with a “large-scale drug trafficking operation” that was doing business “in and around Providence.”

In a press release Tuesday morning, Providence police and the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Violent Crime Initiative announced the results of a joint investigation that started in January.

On May 19, police executed search warrants in Providence, East Providence and Warwick, seizing more than four kilograms of suspected cocaine, a firearm, cash, vehicles and other drug-related evidence.
