VENICE — The City Council approved staff recommendations for changes to the city’s neighborhood workshop and public notice policies Tuesday, and added one, recognizing that actually adopting any of them could pose an issue under Senate Bill 180.
SB 180 generally prohibits adopting tighter land-use rules through Oct. 1, 2027. It’s been a consideration every time a change in the city’s comprehensive plan and land development regulations comes up, Planning and Zoning Director Roger Clark said.
At the request of Council Member Rachel Frank, staff took a look at requiring that neighborhood workshops on land use projects be held in person again.
