NEW HANOVER COUNTY, N.C. (WECT) – A former New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office captain was terminated on May 20 following a crash on US-74.
Kristin Lynn Blanchard, 43, was involved in a single-vehicle crash on US-74 at NC-133 on May 16, according to a North Carolina State Highway Patrol incident report. The crash occurred at 3:37 a.m.
According to the report, Blanchard was traveling east on US-74 and attempted to take the exit ramp for NC-133 when her vehicle ran off the road to the left and collided with a guardrail. The vehicle came to rest on the shoulder of the off-ramp.
