Police: Man reaches for waistband during arrest; gun later found in his pocket

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A man allegedly resisted arrest and reached for his waistband during a struggle with police, with a gun later found in his pocket.

La’Kameron Demonta Anderson, 23, of Columbia, has been charged with the following: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon (second offense), unlawful possession of a handgun, resisting arrest with a deadly weapon, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, and malicious injury to property under $2,000.

It happened early Saturday when police responded to a commercial burglary alarm on Tanger Outlet Boulevard.

When authorities got to the scene, an officer saw a man carrying a backpack, and a chase ensued…
