TAMPA, Fla. – Drivers traveling through Tampa should brace themselves for sudden slowdowns starting this morning.
Beginning at 9 a.m. today, May 27, crews will intermittently close both the northbound and southbound lanes on Orient Road. The affected construction zone stretches between Delano Avenue and East 29th Avenue. According to officials, the daily closures will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., allowing the Tampa Water Department to safely conduct routine maintenance on the local water distribution system.
Local authorities have deployed barricades and flaggers to the area to help direct drivers and maintain traffic flow. However, motorists are strongly encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid delays and are urged to use extra caution when navigating the work zone.
