STOW, Ohio — Stow-Munroe Falls schools officials are publicly discussing the possibility of future school closures as student enrollment continues to shrink and the district faces a potential budget deficit in 2028.
The Board of Education did not present any formal proposal or identify potential schools to close but warned at their May 18 meeting that reducing the number of buildings may be needed.
While this year’s graduate class size was 380, just 280 students entered the district in kindergarden, according to statistics given during the meeting. Federal data shows the district’s gap has been widening in recent years.
