EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — East Providence police said a man was arrested after he vandalized the newly painted American flag-themed crosswalk over the weekend.
According to officials, they responded to the crosswalk on Turner Avenue after receiving reports of a black BMW intentionally accelerating through the crosswalk.
It left two tire marks across the artwork just after it was painted in honor of Memorial Day, officials said.
