Wichita police identify man killed in Sunday morning crash

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – The Wichita Police Department has identified 47-year-old Luke Anthony Hahne of Wichita as the man struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning.

Around 1:50 a.m. on May 24, officers responded to an injury accident in the 100 block of North Washington Avenue. When they arrived, they found a man, later identified by the Sedgwick County Medical Examiner’s Office as Hahne, who had been struck by a vehicle driven by the suspect. Officers began life-saving measures, and EMS transported the man to a hospital, where he later died.

Police arrested a 17-year-old and booked him into the Sedgwick County Juvenile Intake and Assessment Center on May 24. He was charged on May 26 by the Sedgwick County District Attorney with an upgraded charge of second-degree murder and two counts of aggravated battery while DUI…
