A United States District Court judge has ordered a motion for summary judgment that would dismiss all claims against the city of Lake Oswego and Police Chief George Burke related to an $800,000 lawsuit filed after a former LOPD officer was convicted of official misconduct for having sex while on duty in 2024.
The lawsuit alleged that the officer, Michael Sovoboda, “used his official status and position as a law enforcement officer to sexually exploit vulnerable individuals, including Plaintiff and, upon information and belief, other known victims of domestic violence, for his sexual gratification while on duty.”
