Westminster boys’ soccer wins fourth consecutive state championship

MACON, Ga. (WJBF) – After two lightning delays at the GIAA 3A state championship at Stratford Academy, the Westminster Schools of Augusta boys’ soccer team took the field against the St. Andrew’s Lions.

In the first half, the Westminster Wildcats get a direct free kick after the slide tackle foul by the Lions. Adrian Casas is looking to make the first goal of the match and he does, the goal puts them up 1 to 0. They are celebrating, but the Lions are looking to fight back, and they will try to score from deep, and he sends it over the goalie’s head.

The goal ties it 1 to 1, and Adrian Casas will get a free penalty kick after a handball and score and that will give them the go ahead 2 to 1. Ultimately, the Wildcats win it 3 to 1 and they are now happy to be champions…
