Investigators say West Fork Creek Road blaze was intentionally set to conceal killings

SALUDA—The deaths of a man and woman found inside a burned home in the West Fork Creek Road area of Saluda on Sunday, May 24, have been ruled a double homicide, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Robert Peck, 80, and Wendy Peck, 80, were discovered deceased inside their home at 1520 West Fork Creek Rd., near the Henderson County line. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene around 8:30 p.m. following reports of a house fire and were able to contain the blaze upon arrival…
